Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has given assent to 16 of the 32 bills passed by the State House of Assembly over the past two years.

Addressing journalists on Monday, the Majority Leader of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Saleh Hodi, noted that legislative activities under the current administration had progressed without disruption.

He said, “We have passed 32 bills from 2023 to date. Out of the 32, 16 have been assented by His Excellency.

“The remaining 16 are with various committees for scrutiny. We received nine petitions and 86 motions.”

Hodi also emphasised the cordial relationship between the Assembly and the governor, attributing legislative progress to the synergy between the executive and legislative arms.

Highlighting development projects in his constituency, he stated, “I have spent over N20m to buy beds for my female constituents that are getting married, roads were awarded and constructed by the state government, I have also constructed two primary health centres and the list goes on.”

He encouraged his fellow legislators to sustain the positive working relationship with the executive arm to foster continued development in the state.
